Christmas on the Cod

so we were lucky enough to spend almost 2 weeks back home on the Cape. it was nice to breath in the salty air. time really does go by so quickly – going home gave us the opportunity to catch up with friends and family. those connections are so important – and to see everyone again – it was as if we were refueling on those connections to carry them back with us to canada. it was nice, it reminded me of everything. i love remembering and sharing moments – new and old.

the day after we got back we met up with the dearest of friends from framingham state – it was so great to see everyone and catch up! it really motivates me to hear what everyone is doing and accomplishing. i got to see most of our friends from home too. being with family and close friends reminds you of who you are, who you were and who you are about to become all in an instant. it’s so genuine – the funny part is it always feels like time didn’t pass since the last time but you all have new and exciting ideas, experiences and love to share (and maybe not share.. to hold it in, your own little secret of enlightenment) it’s nice to look around a room and see people that you’ve known for years and see how they’ve grown or the little parts that’ll always stay the same. it’s great to have such meaningful relationships that you will hold on to forever.

we also had our annual christmas eve bonfire with the moore’s, which is always a wonderful time. a blazing fire, homemade food, music, yankee swap and lots of laughs. i love those guys. nancy cut my hair a few days later. i was beginning to think that all my negative energy was getting bundled up in my locks… so i cut them off – all 10 inches – it might be all in my head but i really do feel refreshed!
