On Memorial Day weekend we had some mighty fine guests come to stay with us – the return of Shae & Chris. We wanted to show them around Montreal when it wasn’t covered in snow so they decided to do a return trip in May. We visited Le Marché Jean-Talon (a huge & glorious Farmer’s Market that goes on 7 days a week) and bought food there for a picnic to have at Parc La Fontaine, as well as portobello mushrooms, corn, & asparagus to have for dinner (yum!). I also took the best picture I might have ever taken of an amazing european man playing the accordian at the Market. Another day, we went to one of our favorite restaurants to eat, Burrito Ville & visited a bunch of shops in town. One night they treated us to an authentic French dinner with delicious wine & classy conversation – it was lovely. We didn’t drive at all that weekend – we rode bikes to all destinations and I have to say I was impressed by a certain someone who hasn’t riden a bike in quite sometime! One early evening we took them up to Le Oratoire Saint Joseph to watch the sunset and see the view of the city from way up there – it was a really nice moment to share with them. It’s always nice to spend time with people that you feel genuinely comfortable around and really enjoy having their company. It was also great because they are up for anything and it made for a very relaxed and enjoyable weekend – something I think we all needed.
