Halloween was great! We had a blast with the gals up in Salem – walking around, being spooky, getting our pictures taken & just enjoying the other thoughtful costumes around us. Granted there were a ton of lame people who thought Rory was the Tin Man (and when referencing it would sing, “if I only had a brain…” WHICH was the scarecrow not the Tin Man…to which we would reply if YOU only had a brain) – It’s sad to think that some people have no frame of reference – clearly Rory had built a suit of armor (and I’m pretty sure the Tin Man didn’t have a skeleton for a face) but I guess it just bummed me out that some people just don’t get it. That someone can’t just be creative and invent their own character they have to actually be an already made up one… strange to think about but after it all sank in we began to feel better because we made our own costumes and really put some thought into it – it was more fun that way.
I was pretty happy about the way my costume came out. Originally I had planned to be a werewolf but when Rory told me he was building a suit of armor for his Ghost Knight costume I decided that it would only be suiting to be the evil sorcerer in which he fell in love with and later doomed him to walk to the ends of the earth forever and ever. I had spent three long nights on the sewing machine so that I would have a lovely medieval dress to wear. I know I could have easily just gone out and bought one but I wanted to sit down and actually create what it was I was going to wear. We were happy to be around other people that appreciated Halloween and I’m already getting excited for next year!
