Saying goodbye to Alaska was bittersweet – there was something different about the energy in Alaska. It felt refreshing and powerful. It’s funny that you can feel the certain energy of a place. It felt unlike anyplace I had ever been & because of that we felt that we had been given a great gift & didn’t want to say goodbye just yet… but on the other hand we knew that we would be back someday (perhaps in the summer when they get sunlight almost 23 hours a day…)… I think everyone should go to Alaska at least once in their lifetime….
We caught our plane in the wee hours of the morning and made our way to our next destination, San Francisco. We knew as we were arriving at sunset that this part of the adventure was to be just as exciting when we looked out our window to see this… I have never seen this color red in all my life. The sunsets back home don’t look like this…but I suppose I have never seen the sunset on the ocean… another welcoming sight in a different place and time.
