Monochrome Potluck

For Ben’s day of birth they celebrated the best way how – by having a Monochrome Potluck. It wasn’t the food that was to be monochrome themed but the people attending. It was probably the best idea ever. They were hoping to have a ‘big old rainbowy food fest’ to brighten up everyone’s winter. I was psyched because it gave me a chance to wear all my rusty orange colored clothing at one time. Rory was a little bummed because he wanted to wear red but didn’t have a pair of red pants so he opted for the color blue (which most New Englander’s have plenty of…) needless to say there were lots of blues (and browns, and grays and blacks..). I was the only orange there for most of the night until someone else showed up as we were leaving wearing a creamsicle orange color. I was surprised – there were only a few greens and one lonely yellow (which turned out to be the lovely Jasmine Crafts)! I hope that this get together theme makes a reappearance in the near future. We ended up making zucchini crusted pizza (a recipe from the Moosewood Cookbook)& brought some of Dog Fish Head’s Raison D’Etre. Mmmmm.
