Ladies Weekend

Ah, there’s nothing like welcoming Spring with the company of your lady friends. I had such a nice time with Mandi & Julie a few weekends ago up in Marlborough (where they both currently live). I got to see Julie’s new apartment which was super cute & also got to spend some quality time with Mandi and her lovely boyfriend Jay. Julie cooked a fantastic stir fry for dinner and I made some Mexican Wedding Cake (which is actually this amazing layered bean dip!). We had a PJ party at Julie’s and started the next day on the right foot – Julie asked Mandi to scratch a scratch ticket she had recently bought and ended up winning $100 bucks – it was awesome! She took us out to a very lovely and yummy sushi lunch!

During the day we went for a nice long walk on the perfectly blue skied afternoon… the sun was shining and it was probably one of the nicest days we’ve had so far. Along the way a hawk perched itself up right next to us on a post – we always see one of these lovely creatures when we are together – I take seeing hawks as such a good sign – reminds you to just stop and take in the moment. Mandi & I went to the park to read and relax after that… it was a lovely way to spend the late afternoon (on such a nice day you don’t want to waste a moment of daylight!). There’s just something really comforting about getting together with your friends who have been through a lot with you. What’s really great about when the three of us spend time together is that we are all so very different and it just works. It’s really easy to connect with those girls – we all listen and respect each other – which is probably why it’s always a refreshing experience being with my gals.
