Family Dinner

A few weeks ago Rory, Siobhan & I got together with Emily (Rory’s sister), her boyfriend Larry and their friend Ben at their new place. Ben bought a house right down the street from mine in the mills and it’s awesome. I love those guys. They are big into growing their own organic produce so they had us over for an amazing homemade meal from last fall’s harvest. We had squash and sweet pumpkin soup with lots of yummy garlic and a vegan shepherd’s pie made with sunshine burgers… yum! Emily also made the Mexican Layer Cake dip that I mentioned earlier.. it always just feels so good to eat such delicious foods! Sadly, I didn’t take any pictures of the food (what was I thinking) but I did happen to document a round of Apples to Apples that we played… the best was when the key word was Overwhelming and the cards that got put down were too good not to document… “Americans”, “Genetic Engineering”, “At my parents house”, “Money”, “Family Reunions”, “Cocaine”, & “Social Security” – ha ha.. I know right? As we were getting ready to leave we also found out that Emily has a really long torso – her and Siobhan are about the same height and her hips fall about 4-5 inches below Siobhan’s – hehe. Ah, family. Here’s to having more lovely homemade dinners, conversations & fun games with friends and family ❤
