Lake Kegonsa, WI

We decided to camp out in Lake Kegonsa State Park in WI on our way to Madison. We were greeted by very genuine and happy park rangers and after a little bit of time found all of the people we met in Wisconsin to be of that nature. The park was excellent! Since we arrived there on a weekday the campground was actually pretty slow so we had another campsite all to ourselves with out another camper in sight. The lake was close by so in the morning when we woke up we went for a run down there to check it out. It was very reminiscent of Lake Wequaket back home. A local man made his rounds around the campground selling wood for a very nice price. He asked Rory where we were from and in hearing the answer replied, “Wow we don’t get many people from Massachusetts visiting us here.” He said it was a beautiful place and should come back again soon to really explore that part of the country. We made a killer dinner – fettuccine with dried morels and rory played a little guitar. I spent the evening by candlelight writing a few letters to my mes amis. We even lucked out and got to take a shower the next morning for free! Oh the little things…
