Canyonlands National Park

After a day hiking in the Canyonlands we were fortunate enough to see the full moon rise above the expansive red canyon landscape. Another singular moment that makes this trip worth while. Seeing the orange moon rise up over the horizon and ascend into the dark night was one of the most beautiful events I have ever seen. We sat on a rock and watched it for a while and lost track of time. In the morning we woke up early to see the sun rise. As it came up it illuminated the canyon walls with a glow that warmed the red earth. At the opposite side of the canyons we saw the moon going down over the horizon and felt fortunate to have experienced the moon rise and fall in a singular phase.
